The Satin Pothos (Scindapsus pictus) is a durable, trailing houseplant prized for its thick, matte-textured leaves splashed with iridescent silvery-green markings. Despite its common name, it is not a true pothos (Epipremnum) but belongs to the closely related Scindapsus genus.

    • Light: Needs bright, indirect light to maintain its vivid variegation. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the lighter parts of the leaves.

    • Temperature: Warmth is critical for this species. It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 85°F; higher temperatures typically encourage more pronounced variegation.

    • Watering: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry out before watering again. Overwatering can quickly lead to root rot.

    • Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (60% or higher), though it is moderately adaptable to average household levels.

    • Safety: Like other philodendrons, it is toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
