Monstera esqueleto (formerly classified as Monstera epipremnoides) is an extraordinary, highly coveted climbing aroid native to the cloud forests of Costa Rica. Translated from Spanish, "esqueleto" means skeleton, a nod to the plant's massive, dinner-plate-sized leaves that feature an extreme, jaw-dropping "hole-to-leaf" ratio.

It is often described by collectors as the larger, much more glamorous, and highly dramatic sibling to the standard Monstera adansonii.

Light: Position in bright, indirect light to maintain the vibrant variegation. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the sensitive variegated leaves.
Watering: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Ensure the pot has proper drainage to prevent waterlogging and root rot.
Soil: Use a well-draining, airy mix containing orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss. This aeration is necessary for healthy root development.
Temperature & Humidity: Thrives in temperatures between 65°F and 85°F. It benefits from moderate to high humidity levels (60-80%), which can be achieved with a humidifier or greenhouse setup.
Toxicity: Not safe for pets if ingested.
