• Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch and bleach the dark foliage. It can tolerate slightly lower light than other alocasias but may become leggy.

• Watering: Allow the top 2 inches of soil to dry out before watering. This plant is highly sensitive to overwatering and "wet feet," which quickly leads to root rot. Use filtered or rainwater if possible, as it can be sensitive to minerals in tap water.

• Soil: Requires a well-draining, chunky mix. A blend of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal to ensure high aeration.

• Temperature & Humidity: Prefers warm environments between 60°F and 85°F. High humidity (60%+) is essential; use a humidifier or pebble tray. Avoid misting directly on the velvety leaves to prevent fungal issues.

• Toxicity: Highly toxic to pets (cats and dogs) and humans if ingested. It contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that cause severe oral irritation, swelling, and gastrointestinal distress.
